Kalimán es un superhéroe creado originalmente para la radio en México por Rafael Cutberto Navarro y Modesto Vázquez González en 1963. Tras el éxito inicial de las aventuras del personaje en este formato, en 1965 se produjo el salto a la Historieta, alcanzando entonces su mayor popularidad. Su revista se vendió semanalmente durante 26 años sin interrupciones a lo largo de 1351 números consecutivos, difundiéndose más allá de las fronteras de su país de origen, por toda Centroamérica, algunos países sudamericanos y el Caribe.
Kalimán es el séptimo hombre de la dinastía de la diosa Kali. Es un hombre justo que dedica su vida en cuerpo y alma a combatir las fuerzas del mal siempre acompañado de un niño egipcio, descendiente de Faraones llamado Solín.
Las aventuras del personaje en su afán de justicia, lo han llevado a recorrer diversas regiones del planeta, tanto en historieta como en radio, enfrentando una infinidad de peligros y desventuras, que se ubican a medio camino entre lugares y hechos inspirados en hechos y lugares reales y de ficción.
Kalimán ha debido hacer frente a organizaciones criminales del hampa, especializadas en el tráfico de drogas y armas, personajes místicos, extraterrestres, asesinos a sueldo, nazis e incluso seres de ultratumba como vampiros, muertos vivientes y licántropos.

The roots. Colonization is supported by the roots of creation. Tenochtitlan is buried right under Mexico City, yet many fail to recognize. Indigenous blood still runs through the veins of the majority of Mexicans. Coyolxauhqui became the moon. When the moon rises, the end of the day is here. But the end is only the beginning of a new day. The Mexica did not die, they are still living. Their destruction by the Spaniards was the beginning of a new era.

The city lights of Madrid (just right of center) stand out in this photograph from the International Space Station. Recorded by one of the Expedition 30 crew members, the view shows almost the entire Iberian Peninsula (both Spain and Portugal) with the Strait of Gibraltar and Morocco appearing at lower left. What is thought to be a blur of the moon appears in upper left corner. The faint gold or brownish line of airglow—caused by ultraviolet radiation exciting the gas molecules in the upper atmosphere—parallels the horizon or Earth limb.
